Topical anesthetics are used prior to and during the eyeliner service, therefore, the entire process should theoretically be pretty painless. It is impossible to determine the exact level of pain one might experience even with the use of anesthetics. Peoples individual pain thresholds vary from no pain, minimally uncomfortable, to very painful. It is certain there will be some pressure from the skin securing and stretching that is crucial for proper pigment implantation. Slight stinging and some irritations from the wiping away of extra pigment on the skin
around the eye have also been noted. Some people experience a slight burning sensation if any of the anaesthetic creeps into the eye. Angela uses extreme caution and does her best to preform the service as pain free as possible whether by reapplying anesthetics or rinsing out the eyes regularly.

* it is not uncommon for people to experience a bit more sensitivity when menstruating

*You may resume facial makeup right away. Please take special precautions to avoid wiping off your face makeup into the eye area until healed.

*You may resume waring eye makeup after 72 hours but you must plan to purchase new eye makeup as makeup breeds bacteria. When wiping off please avoid wiping directly into the eyeliner line.

*Red, bruised and lightly swollen upper lids are common the first morning post procedure. Sleeping with your head elevated has been know to help decrease swelling. To avoid unwanted results, you must fully understand what you are getting yourself into and choose a practitioner you feel 100% comfortable with. Review images of their healed work. Discuss your expectations and desired outcome with your artist. Realise that faces are never perfectly symmetrical and your artist is not a copy machine. Adjustments may be made during the perfecting session.

When referring to any form of make up like enhancing tattoos, it is important to understand that the term “semi-permanent” and “permanent” are commonly misconstrued. The term “semi permanent” only refers to the fact that the
pigment does not wash off daily. The color must be refreshed in a timeframe that is based on a case by case basis to look its best. There will always be some trace of pigment molecules in the skin, therefore it is in fact a “permanent” procedure.

An in person consultation is mandatory if you have had a permanent eyeliner service from another artist. Angela reserves the right to refuse service to anyone she feels is not best suited for her eyeliner service.

When pre and post care instructions are followed the risk of complications are rare however, should you suspect an infection, it is necessary for you to contact your health care provider immediately to avoid any further complications.
