Microblading
Microblading is one of the hottest trends in beauty today and it is ideal for anyone 18 years of age or older wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows, especially for those with little to no hair. Unlike traditional machine applied permanent makeup, microblading is applied manually by using a tool to tattoo fine eyebrow like hairs into your own eyebrows, creating the appearance of the full, perfectly shaped eyebrows you’ve always wanted! When performed correctly by a qualified microblading artist, it is difficult to tell the difference between your real hairs and the microbladed strokes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Any time pigment is inserted under the skin it is considered a tattoo no matter the method, design or placement.
*Microbladed brows: are created using a hand held manual tool to insert high quality pigment into the upper dermal layer of the skin via shallow slits created to closely resemble individual hairs. The artificial hairs follow the hair pattern of the natural brow if there is hair and an artists realism design if there is no hair.
*Powder/ombre brows: are preformed using a manual or electric hand held tool to insert pigment into the upper dermal layer of the skin via an up and down needle motion. This creates mass amounts of pigmented dots into the upper dermal layer of the skin to create a soft shaded effect. The more dots in one area the darker the area. (Much like pointillism art) The bulb and edges of the upper part of the front body of the brow is lightest and the arch
and tail is the darkest creating an ombre like effect.
**Both microblading and powder/ombre brows are considered different forms of tattoos.
Personal preference determines whether someone should get powder/ombre brows or microblading however, this service is not ideal for oily, large pore, and mature skinned people as they have a higher chance of an undesirable outcome. You must prefer a realistic hair stroke look over the makeup filled look of a powder/ombre brow.
Microblading either needs to be delayed, does not offer the best outcomes, or is not available to individuals:
- with rosacea, eczema or psoriasis in the brow area
- on chemotherapy drugs
- pregnant or nursing
- diagnosed with serious medical conditions (must consult a doctor for approval)
- using Accutane (must discontinue use for at least 1 year)
- using Retin-A or Retinol (must discontinue use for at least 1 week in advance)
- who had Botox within a minimum of two weeks of service
- who have had a chemical peel within a minimum of one month of service
- who requires anesthetic and is allergic to lidocaine, tetracaine, or epinephrine
- on blood thinning medications. (may affect the results)
- under the age of 18 (Wisconsin law)
- with extremely sensitive or thin skin
- with oily skin
- with large pores in brow and forehead area
- with deep wrinkles, scars or large moles in brow area (may be possible to go around but will certainly have voids in the pigment)
- with skin that keloids (some added risk)
- with sunburned or deeply sun tanned skin
- with any active acne in the brow area
- with any open wounds in the brow area
- who have waxed or colored their brows in the past 3 days
- who have received microdermabrasion or dermaplaning within at least 2 weeks of service

**Powder/ombre brows may be an alternative to microblading in most cases.
If you would personally prefer an in person consultation vs. over the phone you are welcome to book one.
In person consultations are only mandatory if:
*you have ANY old tattoo pigment in your brow area
*you are not sure if you qualify for the service based on the FAQ “Am I a candidate for the microblading service”
*you just want me to take a look to determine for certain if you are in fact a good candidate for the service because you are unsure.
It is impossible to say for certain how painful the service is, as everyone has a different level of tolerance. Most people liken the feeling to multiple brow hairs being tweezed at once during the first pass across each brow. To help ease discomfort, Angela does use a topical anesthetic containing lidocaine, epinephrine and tetracaine.
It is worth noting that, to Angela’s surprise, she has had several people fall asleep while getting the service.
*It is not uncommon to be more sensitive to pain around menstruation
After signing the consent forms and addressing all questions, Angela cleans your entire brow area and takes a few photos for reference. She then discuses the desired outcome you may have in mind and/or gives suggestions based on your facial morphology and natural thickness and general shape of you existing brows. (should you have any) Using special tools Angela then draws the design and verifies the symmetry for the best possible outcome. After you both agree to the design, Angela then goes over the color options that would best suit your skin tone and natural brow hair color. Angela makes several passes using a sterile single use microblading tool to go over each brow making sure the pigment is implanted into the correct depth of skin. After the brows are completed she shows you the end result and explains in detail how to care for your healing brows.
Angela uses high quality pigments created specifically for the service. She uses your natural brow and skin tone to determine the pigment that will be best for you.
Yes. Your microblading is not considered complete after your first session. You must come back 4-6 weeks later to perfect the brows. It isn’t until 4-6 weeks post perfecting session that your brows will show the true final result.
NO. That is the minimum amount of time your skin takes to fully heal. NO EXCEPTIONS.
A minimum of two weeks for superficial healing and 4-6 weeks for the initial healed result. The final healed result is 4-6 weeks post perfecting session.
It is impossible to say for certain how long your microblading will last. Multiple factors such as age, skin type and lifestyle determine the longevity. As a general rule you should return for a refresher at around the year mark. (some longer, some sooner) Angela will discuss tips to get the most longevity. Use of Retin-A, Retinols and acidic products after the procedure before 30 day mark may cause premature fading. Even after fully healed, continued use of these products in general can decrease longevity.
*Please be sure you qualify for the microblading service by reading the FAQ labeled: “Am I a candidate for microblading”
*It is not necessary or ideal to tweet or wax your brows in advance of your service
*Bleeding can result in poor pigment retention. 24 hours pre procedure please avoid blood thing agents such as ibuprofen, aspirin, niacin, vitamin E and alcohol. Tylenol can be a good alternative. (always consult your doctor)
*Please do not bring a guest to your appointment. Angela takes this service very seriously and feels it is necessary to have zero distractions for both parties involved.
*Do not preform a heavy work out the day of the procedure
*Avoid caffeine the day of the procedure for best results
*Come with a clean face free of lotions, creams and foundations in forehead, lids and brow area
*Ware comfortable clothing
*You may bring your own blanket should you tend to get chilly
*Please bring a hair tie and/or headband hair needs to be completely off the forehead
More detailed after care instructions and supplies will be provided and discussed at length at the close of service. Although there are artists that recommend different ways to care for your healing brows, it is imperative that you follow Angela’s direction for best results.
Things to note in advance:
For 5 days ideally:
*no exercise
For 2 full weeks:
*no swimming (including pools, hot tubs, oceans, lakes and rivers)
*do not use a sauna or take long hot showers
*no stomach sleeping
*no picking or scratching
*no touching aside from as directed in Angela’s aftercare instructions discussed at the close of service
*avoid sun exposure on the brows (most important while healing but for the life of the brows to avoid premature fading and skin damage)
*no treatment in or around the brow area such as facials, coloring and lash enhancements etc.
*Avoid water on the brows except as directed in Angela’s after care instructions discussed at the close of service
The healing process can be difficult for people to adjust to. “Brow shock” is a very real thing. If you find you are regretting your decision in the first 24 hours based on the current look of your brows, it is very important to remember it takes a FULL MONTH at least to see the true outcome of the first session. The brows WILL be darker and slightly larger in the first week or so. Slight asymmetry is not uncommon. Depending on the pigment used you may see more warmth for a short time. To avoid unwanted results, you must fully understand what you are getting yourself into and choose a practitioner you feel 100% comfortable with. Review images of their healed work. Discuss your expectations and desired outcome with your artist, including the shape, style, and color you wish to have. Realize that faces are never perfectly symmetrical and your artist is not a copy machine. Brows are sisters not twins.
Adjustments may be made during the perfecting session. Remember that microbladed brows will fade and touch ups are necessary. If worse comes to worse, and you just can’t wait to remove them, emergency removal can be done but only within 48 hours of the initial service and should be avoided if at all possible. This is done at the customers expense.
When pre and post care instructions are followed, the risk of complications are rare. However, should you suspect an infection, it is necessary for you to contact your health care provider immediately to avoid any complications. This is at the cost of the customer. Angela is not qualified to diagnose or treat any medical issues that should arise.
If you have sensitive skin or allergies to topical makeup products, gold, silver, nickel, or hair dyes you should contact Angela to set up a patch test a few days in advance of your procedure. Should you chose to skip this step, Angela can not be held liable for any reactions you may experience.
* remember there are no guarantees in any tattooing procedures
** Angela would like to note that she has yet to see a single infection or complication from any of her services.
When referring to any form of make up like enhancing tattoos, it is important to understand that the term “semi-permanent” and “permanent” are commonly misconstrued. The term “semi permanent” only refers to the fact that the pigment does not wash off daily. The color must be refreshed in a time frame based on a case to case basis to look its best. There will always be some trace of pigment molecules in the skin, therefore it is in fact a “permanent” procedure. Not only does the pigment used for permanent cosmetics consist of slightly different sized molecules, the skin on our face metabolizes the pigment faster than other areas of the body.
An in person consultation is mandatory if you have received any form of tattoo eyebrow enhancements form another artist. Angela has the right to refuse service to anyone should she not feel you are a good candidate for her services. If
Angela feels she is able to go forward with booking your services, you will be considered a new client and must complete both the first procedure and return for the perfecting session for best results.
Angela is certified, licensed, inspected and approved by the state of Wisconsin to preform such services to the general public. Your health and safety is of utmost importance to her therefore, she uses high quality single use sterile tools,
maintains a clean service environment, completes bloodborne pathogen training on a yearly basis, and never stops educating herself on her craft. All this being stated, rest assured you are in great hands.
A non refundable booking fee is collected to protect Angela’s time. A mandatory 72 hour notice my allow for Angela to fill your spot on the schedule should you need to reschedule or cancel. If you do not allow for a 72 hour notice, it is
within Angela’s right to retain the booking fee. If you allow for the 72 hour notice or keep your scheduled appointment, Angela will discount the booking fee from the full price of the service; the balance of which is due at
the close of the first session. (Nothing due at the perfecting session) If you do not allow for the 72 hour notice and would like to book for the future, another non refundable fee is assessed. Same goes for the perfecting session only you will have to pay the additional fee.
